Kerarings

Kerarings are specialised medical devices used in the treatment of keratoconus, a progressive eye condition where the cornea becomes thin and bulges into a cone-like shape, leading to distorted vision.

These ring-shaped inserts are made from biocompatible materials and are placed within the corneal stroma through a minimally invasive surgical procedure. By creating a more regular corneal shape, Kerarings help to improve vision and reduce the need for more invasive treatments, such as corneal transplants. The procedure is typically quick, performed on an outpatient basis, and involves a fast recovery with minimal discomfort. Kerarings offer a valuable option for managing keratoconus and stabilizing vision while preserving the natural structure of the eye.
