Ms. Susan Sarangapani MB BS FRCOphth is a leading expert in oculoplastics, focusing on plastic surgery around the eyes, eyelids, and face, as well as orbital surgery. Her extensive expertise covers a wide array of cosmetic and non-cosmetic conditions, including eyelid issues, eye socket conditions requiring orbital implants, and reconstructive surgery post-cancer removal. Ms. Sarangapani's approach emphasizes achieving natural-looking results through both surgical and non-surgical treatments.
Ms. Sarangapani completed her medical degree at The Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine (University of London) and her ophthalmology residency at Moorfields Eye Hospital. Her training includes an eighteen-month fellowship at the Craniofacial Unit at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, where she worked with plastic surgeons, ENT specialists, maxillofacial specialists, and oculoplastic consultants. This was followed by another eighteen-month fellowship at Imperial College London, specializing in lacrimal and orbital surgery, focusing on tumour excision with reconstruction and endoscopic lacrimal surgery.
Currently, Ms. Sarangapani serves as the Clinical Director of Ophthalmology and a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, a University Teaching Hospital of University College London (UCL).
She also leads the Oculoplastic Service and established the tertiary referral centre, earning Clinical Excellence Awards for her contributions. As a core committee member of the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Skin Cancer Specialist Multidisciplinary Team, Ms. Sarangapani remains at the forefront of her field.
