Marie Restori holds degrees in pure physics and radiobiology. Her career began with groundbreaking research into the use of acoustical holography in ophthalmic diagnosis, collaborating with the Atomic Energy Research Establishment (AERE).
She played a pivotal role in advancing diagnostic real-time B-Mode technology with enhanced grey-scale capabilities.
In the 1980s, Restori transitioned from working with a prototype mechanical diagnostic B Scanner developed by AERE to utilising a whole body array scanner. She also expanded her expertise to include colour flow mapping and Spectral Doppler techniques, with a particular focus on oncology work.
Throughout her distinguished career, Restori has been affiliated with Moorfields Eye Hospital, where she has contributed significantly to the field of ophthalmic physics. Her international reputation is built on over 30 years of experience in ultrasound applications for ophthalmic diagnosis and measurement.
